COLOMBIA star James Rodriguez lasted just half hour in the Cafeteros' crucial Group H showdown with Senegal.

The Bayern Munich loanee has already sat out the Colombians' 2-1 loss to Japan and may be set for another period on the sidelines.

James Rodriguez was replaced by Luis Muriel against Senegal and BBC 5Live commentator Pat Nevin said:“It looked like a little knock early on to me, but ever since then, Rodriguez has looked as if he doesn't want to get close to players.

Colombia boss Jose Pekerman appeared shocked and concerned by Rodriguez's injury against Senegal.

He sa id: “I am extremely concerned. It’s a tough situation for my team and a topic that could overshadow everything else.

“It’s not a comfortable situation for us. He trained normally yesterday, he was fully fit, no hint of injury."

But he added that he will not know whether Rodriguez could play England until after his medical examination.

“But right now I don’t know where he stands to be honest.

“Hopefully there will be good news after he has been for his medical examination.”

And it has been confirmed that Rodriguez missed training on Friday ahead of Tuesday night's clash with England.

Colombia are expected to find out today whether Rodriguez will be available to face England.

James Rodriguez was the hero of Colombia's 2014 World Cup campaign.

With talismanic striker Falcao out, Rodriguez stepped up to score six goals and win the Golden Boot from midfield.

He then picked up the year's Puskas Award for his strike against Uruguay in the last 16 which is considered one of the World Cup's greatest ever goals.
