New Law Firm Opens in Colombia

As of August 11th, Cáez, Gómez & Alcalde, Muñoz Romero Asesores and Mejía Mantilla Abogados have officialized their union after three years of negotiation. The merger aims to strengthen the firm’s presence in the Colombian, Andean and Caribbean legal market. The newly combined firm is led by Paula Muñoz Romero, who has been selected to be managing partner.

The merger brings together three boutique law firms widely recognized for their permanent innovation of customer service standards, into an integrated multiservice law firm called Cáez Muñoz Mejía Abogados. The law firm expects $20,000m in revenue for this y ear and a 15% to 20% growth for next year, due to the firm’s consolidation to the market.

The partners Guillermo Cáez Gómez, Paula Muñoz Romero, Alejandro Mejía Ortíz and José Luis Jeréz Rosaní have broad experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, intellectual property and antitrust law, habeas data, corporate criminal law, compliance; as well as litigation and dispute resolution processes regarding commercial, civil and arbitral disputes.

The firm’s main practice areas are: corporate law and contracts, compliance, criminal law, taxes, M&A, litigation, real estate law, energy law and public services.
